Update: Prelim deadline

Our first day of class, and I feel exhausted already. Isn't it ridiculous? Blame it on the recent Eid celebration and the one month inactivity after the summer class ended!

My classmate confirmed that the preliminary paper is due in January; if I don't reach that deadline, I shall have to wait for another six months! Which I can't!! So, the target for this semester is to generate ideas for prelim paper, scribble a rough draft and discuss with my supervisor, which means I have about four months to achieve all that while at the same time coping with class. It seems that this semester's class is slightly heavier than usual; we have one paper every week to submit on top of leading one class discussion, summarizing a journal article outside of the class and preparing one research paper. On top of that, I am sure the instructor has more expectations for doctoral students too... I am glad I took only one class this semester! I also volunteered to help out with my supervisor's research just to get some experience.

In class yesterday, I had some ideas swimming in my head, but I am not sure at all if it's any good. My supervisor suggested that we start a file with 'ideas for thesis', which is not such a bad thing. Sigh. It looks like it's going to be a very hard, hard semester for me.
